Writer's "Proficiency"

Alright, I have set up blogs millions of times and tried spilling my feelings or observations out all over them, but they typically get ignored and nothing comes out of them. So, I am using this blog as an avenue to post writings of mine, be them plays, stories, songs or poems. However, I am going to begin this blog specifically with my two plays, (my finished play, Blue, and my two-act play with two songs, Brit.) The first is about the danger of drugs, the death they sometimes cause, unrequited love and the regret it sometimes causes. It's something I wrote when I had suspicions that a friend of mine had died from an overdose. It's a bit heavy on the curses to a point where it becomes a joke. So, I am going to edit that, but this is it as is.

The second is a supposedly absurdist (I think it's pretty hard to be absurdist nowadays) commentary on the self and how it's influenced by societal expectations (i.e. expectations, period.) It comments on it by showing the state of a simple man (never referred to by the script as anything else but "the man") being warped by all the separate forms of stimulus culture throws at him, be it marxist, anarchist, conservative, etc. Ultimately, he resolves to live the life of an anarchist cooperating with contemporary society, but secretly wishing it doom. This is not to say that the Anarchist way of life, purist or not, is the correct way of life, but simply saying that when forceful influence is implied on a person's decisions in their life, they will naturally turn to a way of life that doesn't involve any type of force (i.e. Anarchism.)

Be aware, I am not so sure about Brit's quality and cohesiveness. It's not done yet, obviously. I am part of the way into the second act and have the closing monologue written, but I am losing confidence in it. Hopefully, I'll get my spark again soon.
